Poor Ronnie Montrose. He was terrible as an old dude.. playing at a Disney kind of amusement park at midnight...if was him I would have become a carpenter or something. Or actually.. I would have been a producer or something, pushing young talent. I really tried to like his set but I couldn't. In his older years his shit went from this to terrible.

My Gamma LP.s are some of the most protected slices of vinyl in my collection, for good reason. Thanks for this post.

Robert has a great memory, I saw Montrose at a Day On The Green that year or a bit earlier. I believe Bob James was the singer, but could be wrong. Montrose was billed over St Paradise, with some real heavy hitters after that. Maybe Eagles, Steve Miller, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. Montrose was amazing, a true prodigy!

Ronnie knows his way around a guitar. Not super flashy with speed and all but he fools you on how good he really is.

Danny Carmassi is a strong drummer! As a drummer I heard of him but now Im impressed. Solid time and stamina. Great band…

I saw him in 74 with Skynard in Birmingham when Sammy was the singer! Just awesome! I was already a fan. Saw them several times after that with Fog Hat and others. Ronnie stole the show always.

This should have been had both video and audio cleaned up synced up so that audio and video match perfectly. There was a version released by Bill Graham's vaults that was Superior to this in audio and video quality plus the audio and the videos synced up perfectly. I hope whoever has the masters of this the source tapes the first generation takes good care of them in fact they should be digitized as soon as possible before the video and audio degrade the concert is white hot it's a shame this was shot but never commercially released

This was 2 weeks after we opened for Gamma at Danny Seraphine's club 'Beginnings' in Schaumburg, IL. Ronnie walked up to me, stuck his hand out and said "Hi, I'm Ronnie." We had a nice talk about guitars.
